containerized housing

This is just cool. I don’t care who you are, how much cash you have at disposal or how ‘eco’ you think you are — this is fucking cool.

Taking old steel containers that can’t be used for shipping or storage, refurbishing them and turning them into housing (commercial, residential). University architecture programs are onto this and have begun projects related to it (Auburn University’s Rural Studio, for example) …

Take a peek — you’ll thank me because, yes – it’s fucking cool …

i read about this a few months back and asked my folks, who are in the contracting business, about it. i am totally stoked on this idea! i have never seen the multi layered units, but that is super cool too. now my goal is to get some land and build myself a home or shop out of them. i heard the containers are pretty cheap really, only about $500-$2000 each.

This is the shit you bitches are reading
